FractureCode Corporation specializes in developing and implementing track-and-trace systems for manufacturers, with teams spread across Europe and headquarters in Copenhagen. Their story with ActivityTimeline began in Kraków at the Jira Day by Divinity conference, where our team met Andreja Trajković, Senior Software Engineer at FractureCode Corporation, and his colleague Nikola Jakovljević, Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead at the Belgrade office.

That initial conversation and live in-person demo led to the beginning of a successful collaboration focused on improving time visibility and operational clarity across teams.

The Challenge:

FractureCode wasn’t solving a problem—it was pursuing improvement. The goal was to better understand where time was being spent across projects and customers and identify areas for optimization.

Time tracking had previously been done inconsistently through Jira, without any specialized tools. Reporting lacked structure, and insights were limited. New labor regulations in Denmark introduced an additional compliance requirement to formally report on employee time, increasing the urgency to find a dedicated solution.

“Nothing in particular that was not working. It was more so we get more organized and we can improve more, to see on which task we are spending the time the most or if some tasks too long in the backlog… And also from the marketing and finance perspective, it can be useful for the reports, internally and for the customers as well.”

Andreja Trajković, Senior Software Engineer at FractureCode Corporation

The Solution:

ActivityTimeline stood out among several solutions reviewed at the conference for its clean interface, focused functionality, and ease of use. Unlike other tools that offered excessive complexity, ActivityTimeline offered exactly what the team needed.

“Other tools were good as well… but the range of things they were covering is something that we don’t need, and it looked more complicated. In the end we looked deeper into ActivityTimeline and also the pricing was important.”

Andreja Trajković, Senior Software Engineer at FractureCode Corporation

Combined with the pricing, the decision was easy. FractureCode chose ActivityTimeline to centralize logging time, simplify reporting, and gain customer-level visibility.

Implementation:

Following the initial demos and Q&A sessions with our support team, they took full ownership of the implementation. Administrators tested workflows and created internal documentation tailored to how the tool would be used within their teams.

“Nikola and I, since we were administering it, were playing around a bit for a few days. We got the whole procedure and multiple variants on how we can use it. Then we internally organized the trainings within the company and also we created some documentation on how we should use it, after we established it.”

Andreja Trajković, Senior Software Engineer at FractureCode Corporation

Internal adoption was fast. The company organized cross-team trainings, built an internal knowledge base to cover frequently asked questions, and designated general Jira tasks that made it easy for employees to log time consistently.

Benefits:

ActivityTimeline quickly became a core part of FractureCode’s daily operations. It’s used mainly for tracking hours and reporting—while planning features remain available for future expansion.

By creating long-term general tasks in Jira for each team, logging time became frictionless. Calendar integration helped streamline meeting tracking, and users appreciated the flexibility in how they could report time—whether through tickets or predefined team tasks.

“Some people are using it one way, some people are using it in another way. That’s why it’s a great tool—you have multiple ways to log time. That's something we like about it.”

Andreja Trajković, Senior Software Engineer at FractureCode Corporation

Employees also experienced a boost in personal productivity by having a clear view of past work and time allocation.

“Since I started using it, I feel much more organized… I don’t have to think about remembering all the things I did. I know that this customer takes more time, so maybe I need to change something or etc.”

Andreja Trajković, Senior Software Engineer at FractureCode Corporation

Feedback and Future Projects:

FractureCode is already considering expanding their use of ActivityTimeline, particularly into the planning and forecasting modules, which remain available for when the need arises. They also shared suggestions for future enhancements, specifically Email or Slack notifications to remind users to log time.

“Maybe it would be a good idea if ActivityTimeline could push notifications… near the end of the day, send a message like ‘don’t forget to log your time.’”

Andreja Trajković, Senior Software Engineer at FractureCode Corporation

They were pleased to hear that many of these ideas are already part of ActivityTimeline’s roadmap or are already available.

Conclusion

What began as a conference discovery is now a trusted tool used daily across FractureCode’s teams. ActivityTimeline brought structure, visibility, and improved reporting, helping the company stay compliant and organized.

“Definitely, I would recommend ActivityTimeline… great user experience, easy implementation, and also, great support. You guys are incredibly fast and always there for us.”

Andreja Trajković, Senior Software Engineer at FractureCode Corporation

With a strong foundation and plans to scale further, FractureCode’s journey is a powerful example of how the right tool—introduced at the right moment—can create lasting impact.
